Description

Can a Kamado Grill Be Indestructible? Spoiler Alert: Yes

Simply put, the Blaze Kamado offers superior durability to ceramic kamados the traditional material for this grill type for a lifetime of grilling. How? Its all in the cast aluminum alloys that contain very little iron, which results in a rust-proof design strongly resistant to the elements. And unlike ceramic, cast aluminum allows you to use any type of charcoal, wood, or lighting materials without the worry of it causing damage or being absorbed into the grill body. Oh, theres more: you wont need to shell out extra money to replace the top exhaust cap, a commonly faulty component on ceramic kamados. Everything comes together to create the most durable kamado on the market.

Maximum Heat Retention for Maximum Flavor

Being virtually indestructible is one thing, but we know you care about cooking power most of all. The Blaze Kamado delivers with heavy-duty, 304-grade stainless steel cooking grates that measure 12mm in thickness to retain huge amounts of heat for an excellent sear. By shaping the grates hexagonally, Blaze gives food more surface contact with the cooking surface, in turn producing bolder sear marks for wonderfully caramelized flavor. And instead of using a felt gasket like the competition, this cast aluminum kamado utilizes a tongue-and-groove seal. The design eliminates the need to fix a damaged gasket another commonly replaced kamado component and also provides an exceptional seal that prevents precious heat and smoke from escaping mid-cook. More heat and more smoke in the grill mean tastier food on your plate.

Easier Grilling & Cleaning

That 20 diameter cooking grate we were going on about earlier? Well, its hinged on both sides so you can easily add wood or charcoal without removing food and lifting the entire grate. Blaze also included a mid-level, 18 cooking grate that allows you to cook closer to the fire for more intense heat (its also a good spot to place a drip pan or a heat deflector for indirect cooking).

The Blaze Kamados lid hinge is made from 304-grade stainless steel and features a convenient lift-assist function for easy opening and closing. At the bottom of the firebox, youll find a removable stainless steel ash pan with handles for hassle-free cleanup. A large temperature gauge with markings for smoking, roasting, and searing is mounted in the lid, letting you easily monitor cooking temperatures as you entertain. The grill also includes cast aluminum feet so you can safely stabilize it in your outdoor kitchen island, should you choose to use it off the cart. And as one final show of care, this kamado grill comes with high-heat cooking gloves are for safe handling.

    The build quality is excellent.
I performed some study into aluminum vs ceramic for a kamado and eventually realized that the aluminum had unique advantages worth considering, especially given its thickness. Given my previous experience with a ceramic kamado, only time will tell how the aluminum compares. The fit and quality are superb.

    The build quality is excellent.
This stuff is fantastic… It’s well worth the extra money over ceramic kamados. This kamado gives the impression that I know what I’m doing…

The Blaze Kamado Grill was exceptionally nicely packed and easy to assemble. I watched the video on brisket cooking and followed the steps exactly as shown, and I received the same results. Exactly as advertised. I couldn’t be happier. The Blaze Kamado is simple to use, and it only took a few minutes to become used to finding and maintaining the correct temperature for a cook. It is also as effective as stated. I completed two overnight cooks at 235 degrees Fahrenheit, and the temperature fluctuated by no more than 5 degrees during the 12 hour cooking period. I’d give it more stars if I could!

I wholeheartedly suggest the Blaze Kamado to anyone who is sick of having to replace gaskets, ceramic liners, and cast iron ash grates. These problems are not present on my new Blaze Kamado. I used to possess a Primo XL and had to replace the above components multiple times. The Blaze is no longer with us. It is a little more expensive, but you will appreciate how minimal maintenance this grill is. Buy it with confidence, in my opinion.

Since acquiring this barbecue, I’ve cooked or smoked numerous times and am really delighted with everything about it. I’ve done ribs, steaks, prime rib, brisket, chicken, pizza, and a variety of other dishes, all of which were delicious. It’s a pricey grill, but I couldn’t be happier with it and believe it’s well worth the money.

Purchased just before the Fourth of July and used it three days in a row! It quickly heats up and is simple to manage the temperature. Excellent construction! Before acquiring a top-of-the-line Kamado, I researched for years. I’m looking to get a Blaze outdoor refrigerator as well as a power burner. I’m completely committed!

The shipping packaging was fantastic. The unit, hardware, and grates are all of high quality. Blaze customer support handled a minor issue (not with the item) immediately and courteously. I refer to it as a cooker since it is so much more than a grill or a smoker. My first “hot” cook resulted in perfectly cooked steaks at temperatures above 600 degrees. My first “low and slow” cook was ribs, and Blaze held the temperature (270 degrees Fahrenheit) wonderfully.

I love this kamado; it works great. The only complaint I have is that it is difficult to keep clean on the outside; if you get grease marks or oil burns on it, they never seem to come off! BUT it’s fantastic for cooking and really simple to operate.

It works well to grill, smoke, or bake. Excellent temperature control for low and slow cooking, baking, or grilling. After a 12-hour smoke at 225 degrees Fahrenheit, I still had half of the initial charcoal.
